Our process

From soil to your space

The success of your plant starts from the correct soil. Here is what happens before it reaches you.

  1. Selection

We choose specimens for structure and health, not just size — a plant with a strong root system will outlive a taller one that was pushed too fast.

  2. Repotting

Every plant is moved out of its nursery pot and into ours, so we can see the roots and know what we are selling you.

  3. The substrate

Coco peat for moisture, perlite and volcanic rock for air, composted bark for structure. This mix is the single biggest reason a plant survives its first year indoors.

  4. Acclimatisation

Plants rest in our greenhouse before they are sold. This is the step that prevents the leaf drop people see after buying a plant straight off a truck.

  5. Styling

We pair each plant with a pot that fits its root ball and its eventual size, with drainage where drainage matters.

  6. Delivery

Upright, braced, root ball secured so the substrate does not shift in transit.

  7. Life at home

Care information comes with every plant, and we stay reachable afterwards. The relationship does not end at the sale.

Common questions

Are your plants grown locally or imported?

Our plants are grown on and acclimatised locally before they are sold, which is the step that prevents the leaf drop people often see after buying a plant that has just been shipped. Where a specimen was originally sourced from abroad we will tell you if you ask.

What soil do you use?

The same mix for every plant we pot: coco peat for moisture retention, perlite and volcanic rock for air pockets and drainage, and composted bark for structure. The success of a plant starts from the correct substrate — it is the most common reason indoor plants fail. We sell the same mix if you want to repot yourself.

Which of your plants are safe for cats and dogs?

Kentia palm, Calathea orbifolia, Echeveria and Boston fern are not known to be toxic. Monstera, pothos, philodendron, ZZ plant, snake plant, peace lily, and the ficus species are toxic if chewed. Every product page states this explicitly, and where the evidence is genuinely unclear we mark it as unconfirmed rather than guessing.
